One Of The Most Outrageous Government Documents Yet: Wastebook 2011

Wasteful Government Spending in 2011:

Last week Senator Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-OK) released this year’s Wasteful Government Spending in 2011 Report “Wastebook 2011″. Of course the naysayers have been trying to pick it apart all week but the fact remains our Government is spending the United States into a hole we may never climb out of.

The blatant and arrogant disregard for the People’s wishes and the complete lack of respect of America by congress and the Executive Branch frustrates me beyond words. The fat cats sit there on their high horses and get richer every year while they destroy democracy.

Taxpayers covered the tab for over $113 thousand for much needed New York video game preservation. How about over half a BILLION dollars for a documentary about how rock music ties into the demise of the former Soviet Union? Taxpayers should pay for documentaries, right? I mean, it’s not like we’ve just gone through a recession or anything.

There’s a lot more listed on my favorite forum along with a direct download link where you can grab a copy of the actual Wastebook 2011 report free right from the US Senate’s government website. Check it out at WasteBook 2011 Your Tax Dollars at Work?

I Am Finished With Klout And Their Sleazy Operating Procedures

Where There’s Smoke There’s Fire & Klout Is Smoking

image - klout scoreFor weeks those of us heavily involved in social media have been hearing about the growing controversy over Klout and their blatant collection and distribution of people’s online data; whether they have signed up or not. That’s right, even if you have never heard of Klout, there’s probably a load of data collected and shared by these social media whores.

Is Klout Any Worse Than Other Social Networking Sites?

I sat on the fence for a while; after all, isn’t everyone collecting information about us? Isn’t the largest social site, Facebook, guilty of violating everyone’s privacy only to come back and do it again… And again? Sure, I guess and that’s very disturbing.

I Should Have Bailed On Klout Weeks Ago

The thing that pushed me over the fence as far as kicking Klout to the curb was their low-life tactic of hiding the opt-out link. It was below everyone’s profile page but once the stuff hit the fan, Klout, rather than addressing the real issues, buried the opt-out link below their privacy policy page. I can’t be friends with the neighborhood bully. Goodbye Klout, I hope you get tied up in court and continue to lose market share until you go the way of Netflix.

One Final Show Of Pure Arrogance

When opting out, after searching all over the place to find the hidden opt-out link, I wasn’t at all surprised to find that we are REQUIRED to give our reason for leaving. Just further evidence of Klout’s arrogant disregard for their member’s rights but I was actually happy to do so:

image - QuoteKlout has taken sleaziness to the next level by burying the opt-out option at the end of the privacy page. The final straw for me, how can I trust a company that operates like that?
